These days, there are many varieties of roses but some of the most beautiful and vibrant roses are grown in Ethiopia. We sell exclusively Ethiopian roses. Ethiopian roses are grown close to the equator, which means they can be grown year round and also due to the intense sun, their bloom time is increased.
Ethiopia has a long history of trading roses with Mediterranean countries and others like China, but the trade was abandoned along ago. In the 1990’s the flower industry blossomed in Ethiopia again. Ethiopia is now one of the largest exports of flowers in Africa.
Our Ethiopian partners are farmers committed to supporting their community and growing roses in the most environmentally friendly manner. To this end, they grow all their roses in greenhouses, so they don’t deplete the soil.
